Last week, some area FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams got together and started experimenting with the brand new LEGO NXT robot "brains".
The new NXT brains replace the big yellow RCX brick that past teams have used. The NXT is smarter and more capable than the RCX, but the programming language is different, and the pieces fit together in new ways.
New and old team members tried using the NXT to solve last year's mission table. By the end of the two day FLL camp, all participants had solved at least one of the 9 missions, and some had mastered several.
The jury is still not out on the NXT, but it's well on the way to being accepted by all the kids. Time will tell.
