SeaBot ROV control panel

SeaBot ROV control panel

The SeaBot Control panel is basic, but very safe.

The ROV runs off a 12V sealed Lead Acid battery. There is an in-line fuse between the battery and control panel.

Although it's not strictly needed, there is a main "power shutoff" switch on the right side of the panel which kills the power to all the motors. Whenever somone goes to handle the ROV, they do a verbal check for "Power Off".

To control the ROV's motion, there are three DPDT switches, one for each motor. These are center-off switches which can be used to run each motor in either the forward or reverse direction. The two left switches are the left and right axial thrusters, and the right switch is the vertical thruster.

The ROV is driven "tank style" and is pretty agile in all directions.
