The Garrett Engineering and Robotics Society (GEARS) is hosting a Super-SuGO (Sumo-LEGO) robot competition on Sunday April 6th.
Kids love to build BIG, so Super-SuGO will permit larger, heavier and more powerful LEGO robots, compared with previous SuGO events.
Teams of 2-5 participants will each build a programmed Sumo robot out of LEGOs and then compete on a 5-foot Sumo ring.
It’s fun, creative and it’s a great family activity. All the LEGO parts are provided, and rookie teams are very welcome (no experience necessary).
The event runs from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and is free to GEARS members. There is a $10 registration fee for teams that do not include at least one GEARS member.
In April, two area robotics teams will be going to Atlanta Georgia to represent Garrett County and Maryland in two separate, but related international robotics competitions.
All monies collects on Super-SuGO Sunday will go towards NeXTGEN and TEAM 1629 travel expenses.
The GEARS center is located on Industrial Park Drive in Accident MD.
