ROV's are Remotely Operated Vehicles that operate underwater.  This 4-H kit was created to be a super low-cost entry into the world of underwater robotics.

  1. Unboxing. Just a quick look at what's in the Kit.

  2. Assembling the frame. Build the main structure of the ROV

  3. Waterproofing. Waterproof the thrusters (motor + propeller) and other electrical components.

  4. Add Thrusters and stiffeners. Attach the three thrusters, and use skewers to stiffen the frame.

  5. Tether Termination. Add the connector which links the tether and the three thrusters.

  6. Floatation and magnet.  Add some foam to make it float and magnet to collect chips.

  7. Hookup and Test.  Connect all the wires and take the motors for a spin.

  8. Buoyance and Trim.  Find some water and make sure the ROV's weight and balance are correct.
